Nose: Sweet smoke.
Palate: Warm, slightly fruity with a punch.
Finish: Can I have more? Smooth and warm.
Nose: Smokey when H2O is added.
Nose: salty sour orange with charcoaled cloves
Palate: sentient pepper
Finish: BBQ seaweed in iodine sauce
Balance: a classic Ardbeg structure. Wonderful!
Nose: super peat, definitely an Ardbeg :)
Palate: very smokey, cigar and pipe tobacco, on second thought not as rich as I'd like
Finish: a long and gentle burn, very nice
Nose: Very rich bite.
Finish: Flavours expand deliciously.
Balance: Keeps the bite while the flavours remain and smooth.
Nose: Beautiful warm hug of peat with cinnamon and spice.
Palate: A little oily and bitter but a nice woody nutty flavor.
Finish: Bit anticlimactic after the nose but not much to write home about.
Balance: Never nearly as good as the nose but oh, what a nose!
Nose: Oh Jesus.
Palate: Yes.
Finish: E'smooth AF (as the kids say).
Balance: Great.
Nose: Mellow but tasty, still has the briny-peaty nose you'd expect, but a caramel sweetness as well.
Palate: Booyah! There's the Ardbeg peat!! Real forward with the peat, but with some electricity as well.
Finish: A real zinger of a finish. The nose punches you up one side, the first taste hits you again. The finish spreads out and (?).
Balance: Overall really tasty. Shot through with a peat hammer. Lovely throughout. Gentler than other Ardbegs, but sure as shit not "gentle".
Nose: Very smoky but in an unexpected way. There's a weird eucalyptus crossed with dried fish not that I'm not sure I like too much.
Palate: Wow. The taste is almost nothing like the nose. This is classic fucking Ardbeg and it's fantastic.
Finish: This is really both smoky and tight, but almost grainy as well. Not as strong going down, but still good.
Balance: Early on, I didn't care for the nose too much, but after time it really opens up and goes well with the taste and finish.
Nose: sophisticated seashore iodine and vanilla. Brine. Soft pines. Dill pickles. Coconut? Warm gingerbread.
Palate: earthy, peaty explosion
Finish: long, lingering, surprisingly gentle finish
Balance: slightly uneven - great nose and finish but I want more on the taste.
Nose: Earthy, green twigs. On 5th nosing dried fruits.
Palate: Mellow and smooooth. More fresh green wood. But super smooth.
Finish: Not as lingering as Drum. Still nice. More green.
Balance: Works well.
Nose: Mmm! Salty (can you smell salt?). Sweet cinnamon, green twigs, clean.
Palate: They've distilled the summer of love into a bottle.
Finish: Lingers lovingly sur la tongue.
Balance: Lovely!
Nose: very fragrant (?)< smells like a mellow campfire
Palate: surprising, smooth and sweet for being peated
Finish: wine influences come out
Balance: well balanced
Nose: Wet hay in the barn.
Palate: Soft, warm, round. Lovely.
Finish: Wow. Wow.
Balance: This is a superb whisky.
Nose: Not too smokey.
Palate: Earthy, gasoline.
Finish: Long and smooth.
Balance: Great flavor without overpowering.
Nose: Dark smoke, earth, coarse bark mulch.
Palate: Broad, root-y, licking rough bark but not stabby or cutty.
Finish: Deep, broad, wild mushrooms (porcini?).
Balance: Lovely.
Nose: Sweet, musky something balances the nose, maybe a fruit... banana!
Palate: Complex... hard to describe... drinks have been had.
Finish: Smooth.
Balance: Not too sweet, not too savory. Sorry for the shite review.
Nose: Not my favorite but that's just preference.
Nose: Sweet Kansas City BBQ with amber caramel and honey.
Palate: A slightly harsh sweet caramel. Dust of smoke at the end.
Finish: A nice (?) and smooth finish.
Balance: The finish is smoother than the start.
Nose: Sharp, slightly unexpected smell. Takes a bit to smell the peat.
Palate: Immediate taste is a little overwhelming, but ultimately very nice.
Finish: Nice peaty finish lingers for a while.
Balance: Bit more on the peaty side (as the name implies) but very good!
Nose: Sweet yet hearty.
Palate: Strong attack with sharp conclusion(?).
Finish: Golden with steep drop.
Balance: Not as focused as I'd like.
Nose: Briny, summery, smell of grass on a hot summer day.
Palate: Peaches, grilled oysters, honey, baked rye bread.
Finish: Chalk, smoke from a BBQ.
Balance: Very strong and even. Not for people that want lighter, fruitier whisky.
Nose: Vanilla, sugar cookies, honeysuckle, butterscotch.
Palate: Creme brulee, gingerbread cookies, vanilla.
Finish: I have trouble naming the earthier flavor that undercuts all the baked goods but I do like it.
Balance: Might tasty.
Nose: Beautiful smoke but not overbearing.
Palate: Brilliant! Smooth cherry smoke.
Finish: Caramel, cherry, smokey.
Balance: Perfect peated finish. Balanced!
Nose: Thoughts
Palate: Of
Finish: Kolja's
Balance: Life
Nose: A very faint hint of ionized air.
Palate: A little dark chocolate.
Nose: very peated and smokey
Palate: very, very smokey, almost like a campfire, not much other flavor
Finish: peat intensifies and peat flavor is brought out
Balance: first sip is more smoke, gets better the more you drink it
