Nose: dried fruit, peat
Taste: my palate is a pinball constantly blasted between peat and sweet flippers
Finish: burns but short
Balance: fun! But not at all balanced
Nose: nice peaty aroma but oddly smooth
Taste: do not love the taste. Not very smooth. Kind of a monster
Finish: lingers and smokey
Balance: not balanced. (?) drop off.
Nose: a faint odor of honey and vanilla, then a bit of fruit, cinnamon. Some herbs? Lots of stuff but all very subdued
Taste: sweet and spicy, biting on the tip of the tongue, mostly just spicy for me, peppery, not alcoholey
Finish: very short, a little bit lingers on the tongue
Balance: a pretty competent blend. Did not find the complexit I have heard of.
Nose: nail polish remover
Taste: burn?
Finish: sour apple?
Balance: unbalanced
Nose: peat up front with faint caramel (bourbon) in back - weird!
Taste: oaky, smokey, but with sweet, cordial notes
Finish: fascinatingly odd but a long and similar tail
Balance: 6 for the experience but 7 for Koljas sheer balls-out audacity
Nose: musty, bourbon notes, peaty, sweet
Taste: woah! surprisingly good! lots of peat
Finish: feels cool on the back of my tongue, almost minty, tastes of grain
Balance: I like this, maybe because I was not expecting much. But it is surprisingly good.
Nose: smells like a highland, I get a hint of a port-aged whisky. Mellow but bold. I get a hint of cherries
Taste: Abnormally spicy, but it tapers off nicely. Medium temperature
Finish: this is a pretty robust palate. It finishes nicely, it doesnot disappoint. Nice temperature
Balance: overall this a really complex whisky but it blends very nicely.
Nose: it smells interesting. If I did not have such a stupid palate I could tell you what it is.
Taste: nice, gently peaty, not bad at all
Finish: tastes pretty ok but does not seem to follow through. Kind of a thin finish.
Balance: overall pretty good, tough to nail down.
Nose: chocolate, chewy, smooth on the nose
Taste: smooth
Finish: smooth finish with slow, low burn
Balance: overall fantastic. Love it!!
Nose: smoky, agave
Taste: sweet, smoky, dessicant, quite complex
Finish: good finish, builds over time
Balance: surprisingly good - but difficult to describe. Playing whack-a-mole with whisky.
Nose: smell is not great. Some light peat, mostly smells thin and sweet
Taste: it is nice. Sweet and spicy
Finish: I like how it ends. nice warmth
Balance: overall not bad! Nose brings down, otherwise decent pour.
Nose: very light, floral, with little bit of smokiness
Taste: wood, light and smooth
Finish: smooth, earthy but it ended way too fast
Balance: it is very balanced and light drink, easy to go down
Nose: shifty nose, sherry then lemon and mint, prickling alcohol, decorative layer of turf, sweet, grass
Taste: bunch of alcohol gass-out bulges off the tongue, nice intensity but odd notes in the framing
Finish: good heat reaches deep but all flavor cuts off sharply at the very edge of the throat
Balance: hardest whisky to rate ever!!!
Nose: "complex"
Taste: weird
Finish: definitely made with alcohol
Nose: enigmatic
Taste: mellow, sherry with a bite
Finish: none
Balance: spoiled by finish
Nose: medicinal, anise, peat, sweet bourbon
Taste: all over the place but nice
Finish: warm and woody
Balance: nice and strange
