Release Notes
Our whisky is named after the river Neckar which amongs others flows through Stuttgart. The name Neckar is of celtic origin and means "Wild Water" or "Wild Man" derived from PIE "nik" which means to rush. The development of the name begins in pre-christian times as "Nikros", changes to "Nicarus", then "Neccarus", "Necker" and finally "Neckar". Alt Enderle's Neccarus is aged for 8 years in old Bourbon casks. The permeable wood gives this single malt its unique aroma. A whisky that brings tears of joy to the eyes of all those who take the risk of tasting it. Neccarus is craft executed with care, simplicity of enjoyment, flowery sweetness, fruity elements and subtle spices. Rich, silky, creamy. The embodiment of the art of whisky distillation

Nose: butterscotch, sour patch kid(?)
Taste: plain, wood, dry
Finish: dry woody finish, like sucking down sawdust
Balance: meh
Alex Gurevich
Nose: sweet, smooth and buttery ice cream
Taste: sweet butterscotch and a touch of peat
Finish: bitter wood and faint peat fade out
Balance: disappointing finish, but otherwise consistent. Speyside Single Malt, maybe Auchentoshan?
Andrew Pilgrim
Nose: buttered microwave popcorn
Taste: candy
Finish: bitter
Balance: meh
Brent Watkins
Nose: citrussy? Seems to mask a strong bit of booze with the lemon pledge
Taste: not as alcoholic as I was expecting, not much "bite", something in the background I couldn't pinpoint
Finish: faded dast mostly, but left a "grimy" smoky taste
Balance: didn't balance great due to the disjunct between nose and taste
David Drell
Nose: the sound of silence, faint notes of very little
Taste: as advertised, bit floral, unexciting
Finish: the best part, yet that ain't sayin' a lot
Balance: mixed bag, wouldn't buy it (knowingly), still, it is booze...
David Lawson
Nose: sweet butterscotch, herby underneath, a bit of peat
Taste: butterscotchy, sweet, light, nutty
Finish: meh, osrt of short, sweet
Balance: pretty good, light style whisky. Scotch.
Doug Seiden
Nose: vanilla, dough, sour tinge around the edges
Taste: mellow, oily texture, some bitterness, astringent
Finish: not too shabby, some minty afterburn
Balance: water helps this one up one note across the board
Kolja Erman
Nose: sweet nose underlying anise seed(?)
Taste: chemical back
Finish: short at first but something comes back a bit
Balance: unpleasant but (?) from list(?)
Robert Crawford
Nose: sharp alcohol, strong, slightly sour candy
Taste: lots of small individual notes but not strong enough on each, then gets lost in alcohol
Finish: hangs around a little strong in a good way
Balance: ok for what it is, blah

High quality ingredients are as much a part of the creation of great spirits as ultra-modern and perfected processing and distilling technology.
Alt Enderle stands for highest quality fruit and other spirits and distilling skills of the highest level. Striving for perfection and unique expression is tradition at Alt Enderle
In 1987 the old traditional distillery in Korntal near Stuttgart was purchased by Joachim Alt from a great well-known family in Gemmrigheim. He perfected the processes and reinvigorated the art of distilling. In 1991 he teamed up with his current business partner Michael Enderle and renamed the company to "Edelbrandbrennereien Alt Enderle"
