Release Notes
Enjoy the taste of creamy vanilla with barley sugar and a cereal sweetness leading to mellow oaky spice and light sherry fruit. The whisky finishes with sherried fruit and light warm gingerbread.
One of our two flagship single malt releases, this expression has been exclusively matured in the finest American Oak bourbon casks.
A stunning showcase for bourbon cask flavours, it's packed with notes of light spice, vanilla fudge and a floral finish.
The bottle shape is inspired by the three peaks on the roof of our new distillery and the front is embossed with our tagline, 'The Spirit of St Andrews'. All our single malts are non-chill filtered and have natural colour.
Eden Mill
3rd Party Tasting Notes
A stunning showcase for Bourbon Cask flavours. LIGHT SPICE meets VANILLA FUDGE with a FLORAL finish.

The Distillery: Eden Mill St Andrews
Established: 2012

Address: Guardbridge

In 1810, the Haig family built the Seggie Distillery on the site of the present distillery in Guardbridge. From 1860 distilling took place elsewhere and the buildings were converted into a paper mill, which remained until 2008. Two years later it was acquired by St Andrews University. Since 2022, Eden Mill has been owned by the investment company Inverleith LLP.

In 2012, Paul Miller and a team of three began producing alcohol at Eden Brewery. The transition to Eden Mill distillery was completed in 2014 when the first Malt Whisky was distilled on the site.

In 2018, Eden Mill announced a £4 million expansion of the distillery and brewery. Located just yards from the current headquarters in Fife, the historic former paper mill buildings were modernised to increase production of Gin, Beer and Whisky and create more space for further expansion. Eden Mill is thus one of the first businesses at the University of St Andrews' Eden Campus, helping the University to develop a sustainable local economic model. The campus is currently home to a Biomass Energy Centre, an important part of the University's efforts to become the first carbon neutral university in the UK. Eden Mill follows the trend and thrives to be carbon neutral by 2022.

Inverleith LLP is a sector specialised, lower mid-cap private equity fund that invests into consumer brand businesses that operate within the high growth categories of health & wellness, lifestyle, drinks, luxury and heritage brands, in companies headquartered in the UK and Europe.

Inverleith acquires majority or strategic minority stakes in businesses through its Fund. The Fund focuses on businesses with revenues of between £5m – £30m and a target investment level of between £5m – £15m.

Inverleith targets businesses which have a product USP or strong defendable market position, have the opportunity to become an internationally scalable brand and where the founders / management are receptive to a collaborative investment approach with Inverleith.

Inverleith’s point of difference is the ability to add both professional investment and strong operational expertise into businesses. With many of the team having worked operationally in consumer brand companies across both the FMCG and premium / luxury brand sectors, we know (and have lived!) the challenges faced by companies and brands, understand the strategic levers to drive growth and have the experience and global networks to support businesses in the areas where they need to focus.

Inverleith works closely and collaboratively with companies to build a joint 3 – 5 year business plan and to scale the company for successful exit. We’re hands-on in our approach, taking an active involvement in our investment companies, not only through Board positions, but also by working closely with the executive team senior management to drive initiatives and projects forward where support is required.
